CUCKOO CLOCK REPAIR KIT

Includes everything on this page $79

The basic items required to clean a clock movement without disassembly. Cleaning without disassembly is not as effective as breaking down the movement, but it is sufficient in most cases. Not everyone is ready to break down their clock movement and put it back together. This kit is for the person who would like to do a simple clock cleaning with out having to learn an intense amount of clock repair information or Horology. The goal to cleaning a clock movement is to remove old oil that has solidified and put new oil in its place. Solidified clock oil creates wear to the movements outer plates and eventually causes to much friction for the clock to run.

Clock Cleaning Solution

One pint of concentrated ammoniated clock cleaning solution that can be used to clean movements by hand, or to use with a ultrasonic cleaning machine. Just mix 1 part of this solution to 6 parts of water to clean old clock oil from the movement. The E-book that is included with this kit has instructions on how to clean the clock movement in the best and safest way, so refer to it before starting the cleaning process.

"E" Style Clips

Split washers are similar to C clips as they attach various parts to the movement. These are usually used more on cuckoo clocks. There is 100 mixed sizes in this pack.

Bellow Top Pair

Bellow tops are the most frequently needed item on a cuckoo clock. These get epoxied on the old bottoms just as the old tops were taken off, see the help section for details. Recommended to also get the wire assortment with this if there are any missing wires such as lifting wires. It is a common thing for bellows to rip open when they are old. These replacement tops attach to the bottom part of the bellows easily with epoxy. Epoxy is also included with this kit. These bellow tops are the common size of 1 3/4 x 1 1/4 inches, but any size you would like can be replaced with this size. We have all sizes in stock.

Wire Assortment

Includes bellow lifting wires in various lengths, eye hole wires, cuckoo bird door wires and the bird to door wire. These are the proper lengths and bends that are the most common needed.

Cuckoo Hook & Ring

The hook goes on one end of the chain to hold the weight up. The ring goes on the other side of the same chain so the chain will not travel into the movement and onto the ground. Sold as one hook and one ring as a set.

Wood Screw Assortment

This wood screw assortment has many screws that are nicely sized for cuckoos.

Oiler with Oil

Fountain oiler filled with general clock oil. Convenient applicator to get into tough areas. This is the oil you need to lubricate your clock. The level is needed to be sure the clock stays in beat from one place to another. Learn to set the clock in beat by the directions in the E-book, making sure the clock is level when it is being done. Then keep a level with the clock and where ever the clock goes, as long as its level, it will be in beat. By being in beat, it means to have an even tick-tock-tick-tock rather than ticktock---ticktock---ticktock. The oiler is full of oil and are the size of a fat pen. A Small amount of oil gets applied to anything that has friction after the old oil is cleaned off. This is enough clock oil to do many clock movements.

Hand Remover Tool

Removes stubborn hands and gears in a straight motion. Sometimes this would be needed to remove the wheel on the back that lifts the bellow lift wires also.

Cuckoo Epoxy

The cuckoo epoxy for bellow top replacement, attaching numerals, or repairing broken wood.

This magnifier can be worn over glasses. This fits over the head and will be the most convenient magnification for inspecting important components of the clock movement and parts.
