SUSPENSION SPRINGS
![]() |
NOTE: If the new suspension is longer than the old, the clock may run slower than it did before. To correct this simply turn the rating nut on the bottom of the pendulum to raise the round bob on it to speed time, or the lower it to slow time. This means the length of the spring you order does not have to match your old one, close enough is good enough in this case. You may want two suspensions and put one in the bottom of the clock case for next time it breaks. The round bob on the pendulum would determine if you need a WIDE suspension spring. If you have a pendulum bob that is 8.5 inches or more inches in diameter, use a WIDE. That is also the case if the pendulum is just heavy overall, this will stop the pendulum from rocking rapidly as the clock is running. |
