In Response to COVID-19
Note from Clockworks
We at Clockworks are all healthy and doing fine up here in the deep woods. We are so fortunate to already be quite a distance from social activity. It is the clock makers usual way. In fact, business is good, as people are spending all this time indoors. Seems they need something to do in their homes and there is no better time to complete some clock projects. Stuck at home? Fix up the clocks or get that clock kit wood project done that was started in the 80s. It is more productive, fun and rewarding than any news channel.
We have taken the following measures:
A full cleaning crew diligently completes a thorough cleaning and continuous wiping down of all areas. Thorough sanitizing and cleaning will take place daily until further notice. Employees are made to practice safe personal hygiene protocols by frequently washing hands and maintaining a personal distance from other coworkers.
As always, our customer service team members are available to take orders and/or offer technical support from 8am-5pm Monday through Friday. As we learn more about this, and if our hours of operation need to change for any reason, we will immediately inform all of you through email, Facebook, and Instagram.
Thank you for your continued support, and we send our best wishes to you all.

Hi
Please read all about it at this link https://www.clockworks.com/clock-movement/hermle-quartz-clock-movements.html
I am looking for a replacement for a hermle quartz 2216. It looks like this part number is discontinued. Is there a similar part? It doesn’t have to play music. Thanks
There is nothing on the market with the song silent night. With this known, you can treat that one as a 2215 as described at this link https://www.clockworks.com/clock-movement/hermle-quartz-clock-movements.html
Looking for the clock insert for a small Lenox clock I have on my desk. Please advise. Thank you. Hope Rhodes [email protected]

Do y’all move Grandfather clocks?
I have one in Opelousas that needs to be moved and set up in Washington. 15 miles from where it is now. It’s a Howard Miller Grandfather.
It would be very expensive for the house call to be done by us. Best to find someone local
Sorry we do not relocate clocks. We sell clock movements and supplies and will do clock house calls for repairs within our local area of Huntington, Massachusetts.
All other repairs are completed by shipping the movement to us.
~Donna~
I am not succeed to finish my order, the shipping methode is not available and I don’t understand what’s happened from the last time I ordered. Did you change your policiy and not shipping to Israel anymore?
Thanks, Doron.
I have an 1161-853 AS. What does the AS stand for?
A = production run S = seconds
Are you replacing the movement? If so I have a question from yours
Hi James I have a frontgate combo Clock Temp and Barometer. I need to replace the movement which is a young town 12888. There seems to be so many variations. It only has the minute and hour hand (no seconds). Brass threaded shaft is 3/8 ” and hour hand presses on white round plastic shaft while the minute hand pushes on to a metal center pin like shaft. Do you have a replacement. Also would you have new black hands roughly 10″ on the hour hand and 7″ on the minute hand. The clock face is about 22″ in diameter… Read more »

1975 Emperor Grandfather clock, Case Model #120K, Movement: M-101 in photo. Can you give an estimate for a complete overhaul service?
Hi
Usually we would just swap that one out for the new one. The Jauch movement is no longer made but we do have conversions to Hermle. It is an easy swap.
It would cost less, be faster up and running, and would last much longer.
Please email pics of the back of the movement to us at [email protected]
James

I have a vintage musical cukoo clock. The music box does not stop playing and the weight keeps going down. the clock repair perstold me that a wheel is bent. It’s been in the shop for months. What suggestion could you make for me to get it fixed?
well, id look at bending the wheel back. not sure how a wheel could bend all on its own on the music box. honestly, it sounds to me like the lever is not catching the main wheel when it should. there is a spring that keeps tension on the lever. there is a hole on the side of the gear that this lever engages to stop the tune. if this does not engage, the tune will continuously play. –Bob
Hi
If there is a bent wheel, i cant be sure I have the said wheel.
Can I see pics of the movement area some how?

Clockworks | James Stoudenmire replied to Mr Guy R on In Response to COVID-19Hi James!!! “Someone” when raising the weight on my Clock was a bit over zealous and jammed the chain and weight at the bottom of the clock at the chain outlet…. cannot seem to free up with reasonable jiggling……is this a job for a specialist or is the some simple way to free up the chain and weight? I appreciate very much your kind responses to this and other cuckoo problems.
Grandfather Clock Weights Stuck The Grandfather clock weights can get stuck in the high position if over wound. Some larger clocks have over wind protection to prevent this. The grandmother and grandfather chain drive units often do not have this feature. When winding the weights up make sure the top of the weight can be seen when done. Never go to the point where the top of the shiny weight cover cant be seen. Chime weight stuck The chime weight is on the right as you face the clock and has the heaviest weight . Using cloth gloves, or at… Read more »
Clockworks | James Stoudenmire replied to your comment on In Response to COVID-19.Hi again James! sure appreciate your timely and kind response to problem questions….. I have studied and tried your remedy for jambed chain and tried to free it as per your suggestions for the “Grandfather Clock Weights Stuck”. My stuck chain is on a Cuckoo Clock about the 50’s/60’s vintage, Left hand weight chain..activates the tunes and dancers( Chime?). Is there a different process for a Cuckoo from a Grand Father mechanism ‘cause I haven’t been able to free up my stuck chain…. thank you very much Bob… Read more »
Sometimes the weight gets so jammed up in the clock case, the only thing to do is bust the chain links. Of course at that point to get the chain back down would be to remove the movement and restring the chain again. So the steps would be something like this= 1. Break the chain link and get the weight off with force. 2. take off the hooks and rings on the other chains by separating the links. 3. take hands off, bird unhooked from bar 4. remove movement 5. restring chains 6. install movement Pretty general description, but that… Read more »

My numbers have been lost since my move on my Howard Miller grandfather clock. The finial also.
Can I get the numbers replaced or do I need a new clock face?
We have these numerals to replace missing ones = https://www.clockworks.com/product/clock-dial-brass-tone-numerals-only
If they do not match, all we can do is replace the dial. For this, we would need the movement numbers off of the back plate please.
James

Hi James, I am trying to revive a grandfather clock that I bought on an estate auction. It has a 1161-853AS 94cm Hermle movement with triple chime. From my brief visual inspection, it looks like the small brass plate (that is listed in a breakout diagram as E002-04500 and is referred to on some forums as “CP-0910 Minute Wheel Bridge”) has a very worn oblong-shaped center hole that doesn’t seem to keep a minute wheel arbor in place. I was only able to find that piece from some online stores in AUS and UK, but not in the US. By… Read more »
Hi
All we have is the movement brand new complete
James
James, I am looking for a replacement movement for a Howard Miller tide time clock, model # 613457. Might you have a replacement, know where I might get one, or be able to tell me if these movements can be repaired? The clock runs, just runs fast.
Frank
Sorry do not have the tide units
Are you folks still open for business?
We sure are !
James
Hello, I have a 1969 Black Forest hunters cuckoo clock. This was my grandmothers and is extremely sentimental to me. I’m missing the pendulum weight. Do you have this part or can you get it? I live next town over in Blandford and can swing in anytime.
Thanks
Mike
When you say pendulum weight, do you need the pendulum or a weight ?
Please email some pics of this one to [email protected]
Good afternoon . I need a replacement movement for a wall clock that was a wedding present. The original is a Tochigi Tokei. The clock face is 3/4 inches thick, and the shaft is 3/8 inch diameter. It was a chime, but I am ok with just clock and pendulum. Could you recommend a clock? I ordered one, but it didn’t work.
Thank you,
James Cobb
Hi, Customers requesting a quartz movement that they want to replace will often give the numbers off of the movement wanting to match it up with the exact same unit. This unfortunately is not how replacing a quartz movement goes, unless you are replacing a Hermle chiming movement. You can tell if your clock is a Hermle chiming movement because it will take two C cell batteries and it will have the numbers similar to 2215 or 2114. So if the clock is not made by Hermle and you still want to replace it then you would need to match… Read more »
replacing 1982 3/3 urgos movement. pend 116cm, bob 27cm, hand shaft 3.5cm, will need hand shaft nut, do you recommend new chains?
Do you have a glass dome at least 9” in dia and 15” high
unfortunately we do not have any domes with that diameter.—Bob https://www.clockworks.com/product/anniversary-clock-glass-dome
Do you still handle Herschede clock parts? I have a five rod grandfather clock that needs a gathering pallet on the strike side.
I have a Howard Millar grand fathers clock. It misses 1,2,or 3 chimes when it chimes the hour. The reason is, the mechanism that controls the hour chime behind the clock face is not lifting up far enough to get to the correct step on that half moon wheel. It started doing that when I let clock run out one time. If it runs out it should just stop with out hurting anything but it definitely changed something. It looks like something got out of time.
