Seth Thomas

The Seth Thomas Clock Company holds a significant place in American clockmaking history, with a legacy spanning over a century. It was found by Seth Thomas in 1813 in Plymouth Hollow, Connecticut (now Thomaston). Initially, the company made high-quality wooden clock movements. Over the years, the production of their product line began to broaden to include a wide range of clocks, including mantel clocks, wall clocks, grandfather clocks, and marine chronometers. They are one of the first clockmakers to embrace mass production techniques. Thus enabling the company to produce clocks on a larger scale while maintaining high quality. This approach made them more accessible to the general public.
