Description
Solution
This pint of solution is excellent for cleaning movements by hand, or to use with an ultrasonic cleaning machine. This solution will not only put a shine on the brass plates, it will remove years of deep down grime. Clock movements will not run correctly, if at all, if there is a large build up of old oil, dust and dirt.
Remember to use a drop of oil on key areas after cleaning it with the solution. The directions are simple and on the label of the bottle. Mix 1 part of this solution to 10 parts of hot water. Please note the safety precautions that are also on the label.

How many clock movements will one pint clean?
Depends really. Maybe 15 ? is a guess. Depends on the grime level really.

Does the use of water with this or other cleaning products pose a rust problem on the workings of the clock movement? Would blowing with a fan in fact dry it enough before oiling?
Water can be a friend and an enemy. Use water cleaning mix with solution, blow dry with heat completely dry. Shake shake shake the movement and do it and again and again, never to hot to touch. Be absolutely sure is dry. Oil when still little warm

My wall clock main and striker springs are really sticky, can I immerse the whole clock mechanism in this solution and get it clean, I’m too shaky to take the individual parts apart and clean them. Or is there a way to clean the springs without removing them. I really miss the sound of my clock.

Will this cleaning product remove heavily rusted brass clock movement
No, in fact rust is the very worst thing for a clock movement to clean.
