Gong Description
These gongs have a side bushing mount with a round 3 1/2 inch(90mm) wide coil gong. It also has a 7 inch long threaded base rod. A bottom mount gong mounts on the bottom of the clock case or movement.
When the clock strikes the hour or quarter-hour, a hammer mechanism strikes the bottom-mount gong. This producing the characteristic chime or gong sound. The gong's placement at the bottom of the clock allows for the sound to resonate throughout the clock case. Thus creating a rich and resonant chime that is audible and pleasing to the ears.
