This Cuckoo Clock Repair Cleaning Kit is for the person who would like to do a simple clock cleaning with out having to learn an intense amount of clock repair information or Horology.
The goal to cleaning a clock movement is to remove old oil that has become a solid and put new oil in its place. Clock oil that has become a solid creates wear to the movements outer plates and eventually causes too much friction for the clock to run.

Clock Cleaning Solution
The clock cleaning kit includes One pint of concentrate ammoniated clock cleaning solution to clean movements by hand, or to use with an ultrasonic cleaning machine. Mix 1 part of this solution to 6 parts of water to clean old clock oil from the movement. The E-book that comes with this kit has instructions on how to clean the clock movement in the best and safest way. So please refer to it before starting the cleaning process.

Bellow Top Pair
Bellow tops that are in this Cuckoo Repair Kit are the most frequent item that is in need of replacing on a cuckoo clock. Epoxy these on the old bottoms just as the old tops were taken off. Please refer to the help section for details. We also recommend getting the wire assortment with this if there are any missing wires such as lifting wires. It is a common thing for bellows to rip open when they are old. These replacement tops attach to the bottom part of the bellows easily with epoxy. Epoxy is also in this kit.
The bellow tops are the common size of 1 3/4 x 1 1/4 inches, but any size you would like can be sent with this kit. We have all sizes in stock and can easily change the order to your size in this Cuckoo Clock Repair/Cleaning Kit.

Oiler with Oil
Fountain oiler with general clock oil. Convenient applicator to get into tough areas. This is the oil you need to lubricate your clock. The oiler is full of oil and is the size of a fat pen. A small amount of oil gets put on anything that has friction after the old oil has been taken off. This is enough clock oil to do many clock movements.

Cuckoo Epoxy
Cuckoo Clock Repair Cleaning Kit cuckoo epoxy for bellow top replacement, attaching numerals, or repairing broken wood.

Vision Visor
This magnifier can be worn over glasses. This fits over the head and will be the most convenient magnification for inspecting important components of the clock movement and parts. This quality tool is made here in USA and is a must for this type of work. This flips up over the head when there is an interruption in your work and has 2 1/2 magnification power.
I was given a rustic hand made clock. The class plate in front needs to be secured to the door. It was taped on the perimeter. I am looking for clips, or pins to secure the glass to the door.

Very nice.
My windup chain came out. How can I get it back in so I can wind cooko clock?
Not easy, cuckoo movement comes out for this to be restrung.
James
I have a cuckoo clock with a Herr mechanism. My 3 year old pulled the time chain out of the clock and lost the chain. Will this kit plus a chain resolve my problem? How difficult is it to replace the chain?
It will not. But it will explain how the movement comes out, and back in to the cuckoo box. What is needed is for the movement to come out, be flipped upside down to thread the chain over.
James
Many Thanks !

Clock tick tocks and stops after a few seconds
A cuckoo movement, if you have a sensitive clock, may not run when it isn’t flush to the wall and plumb. However some clocks won’t run when they are straight. Try tilting the clock a little bit at a time to one side then the other until you find where it will run. You can adjust the clock by bending the crutch very slightly. There are several websites that explain this further. If the clock still won’t run it may be dirty. It doesn’t take a lot of dust to stop them.
