So here we have Kieninger-KSU Clock-Movement Parts – Front Diagram. Furthermore, it is a German KSU triple chime cable driven clock movement that these parts are available for. In addition, these are the new style K series units that are new returns.
Moreover, the parts such as barrels and wheels are not the same on the older style units. So please be sure the clock movement that the parts are purchased for, looks the same as in the following pic.

I just inherited a grandfather clock with a 83K 116cm clock mechanism. One of the cables has developed a fray so I am replacing all cables before putting the clock to use. I have also cleaned and very lightly oiled the mechanism. Since I am new to this, how do I know when a new mechanism is in order?
That is a 30 year unit at best. At that point, either restore it or get a new one. As it is still made, it is less cost to get the new unit. Yours is made in 1983. If you choose, please order the Kieninger K series with triple / cable / 116cm options selected from this link

Would someone have the kindness to tell me how to activate night shutoff on a just-inherited a Kieninger regulator wall clock with (I believe) an RSW movement? My memory of the clock in my father’s home is that it had a night shutoff function, stopping the hour strike and quarter chime from 10 pm to 7 am. But there only seem to be two levers on the clock. The left lever seems to do hour strike on/off, and the right lever seems to do quarter chime on/off. I cannot figure how to activate night shutoff, and would deeply appreciate any suggestions or assistance.

Usually on the left slider there are three positions, Strike off all the time, ANSO shut off, and Always on.
Best to check if there is a middle slot for the ANSO

Greetings. Father purchased a Sovereign Grandfather with 81 K 116 movement early 80’s and now have it in my possession. Both hour and minute hands lag the actual time chronically. 15 years ago, our local clock repair person blamed ‘plastic gear’ (singular) as the problem. He suggested he could manufacture a metal replacement for a price. I dont mind funding this clock’s resoration now. Does this plastic thing mean anything to you? I see you have parts. Wonderful. I have a 1994 Howard Miller Grandfather clock since new. 3 weights suspended by cables, with a moon phase dial. It has worked fine, but I tried to move the chime selector lever, and something snapped. Now the lever is in the down position, and it will not change the chimes, nor will it stay in any other position than all the way down. I looked inside the right side access window and see what looks like a small black 1/2 nut laying loose. (only 1 piece of it) I have not taken anything apart. Where would this nut come from, and would I be able to fix it? Thanks, Paul
Yes I know what you mean. Sorry I ran out of them because that is the common part that breaks. Sorry do not have it, only the new unit

How do I attach cable to the mechanism?
On the newer style K series there are steel clips hanging from the bottom of the clock movement. It has a slot the end of the cable goes into, and it slides down so the cable end can rest in the hole.

Hello ,I’m trying to find the black plastic chime selector for a KSU movement …is this available from you. It is shown on your diagram but not lettered as a part .
My movement is stamped “K 11” only. Are the chime hammers for the KSU series the right ones? Are the hammers offered for sale complete to the ends that “ride” the chime cam? The ends of mine that ride the cam are worn.

I recent;y acquired a Howard Miller Floor Clock, Model Number 610-241, with a Howard MIller Germany made (sic, Kieninger) movement, Number UW03051B 8206. I have 2 questions; 1) I have been trying to fix the actual vintage of the clock with no success, can you help with an approximate year, or range of years of manufacture for this clock?, 2) the clock was stored most improperly for at least several years, if not longer. The cabinetry is in need of deep cleaning and revitalization of the wood finish. I have a firm handle on that, the movement is only dusty and in need of a proper cleaning and oiling, I have that under control as well. However the brass ‘sleeves’ of the weights did not fare well from their improper storage, they appear to be brass plated steel, all three tops caps are now devoid of brass and are rusty metal finish, the body of all three have spots devoid of brass and the spots are scaly rust. I believe they are beyond salvaging, short of being chemically stripped, brass plated and polished. The sleeves are 62 mm (2.44″) Diameter x 247.65mm (9.75″) long. Are these weight sleeves available for purchase?
